Objectives
Mixed venous oxygen saturation reflects cardiac output and tissue perfusion. The use of a new totally implantable oxygen sensor for optimising cardiac haemodynamics is assessed. This may open new ways in which cardiac patients can be monitored noninvasively on a long term basis.
