Objectives
Cardiovascular diseases have been shown to be associated with cigarette smoking. This project is to investigate the acute and chronic effects of nicotine treatment on arachidonic acid, the precursor of eicosamoids, and its cyclo-oxygenase metabolites, such as prostacyclin and thromboxane A2, which are important in vascular homeostasis.
