Objectives
To study the biochemical lesions present in the spermatozoa of infertile patients by measuring the intracellular free reactive oxygen species (the singlet oxygen, the superoxide anion & the hydrogen peroxide) and intracellular calcium level in spermatozoa present in normal, fertile and infertile subjects before and after experimental conditions to induce spermatozoal capacitation. The identification of biochemical lesions in human gametes would have significant implication in understanding the aetiology of human infertility and medical treatment of infertility problems.
