Objectives
To compare the risk of recurrent variceal bleeding among non-alcoholic cirrhotic patients who had a history of variceal hemorrhage on long-term oral VER and on long-term intravariceal ES; to compare the survival of the 2 groups of patients; to compare and identify the effects of either treatment on the liver functions of cirrhotic patients; to compare and identify the effects of either treatment on the portal hemodynamics of cirrhotic patients.
