Objectives
To understand the basic mechanism for the formation of bistable flows over two bluff bodies of the same or different sizes at their critiical separation and to study the flow dynamics such as the boundary layers on the bluff body surfaces and the flip-flopping large and small wakes; within the wakes it is also hoped to isolate their different modal characteristics and the interaction of different flow structures further downstream; it also studies the effect of acoustic excitation on the flow dynamics and fundamental mechanism.
