Objectives
Acoustically excited circular jet has been investigated to understand the effect of external disturbances on the shear layer and the formation of large scale structures. The flow characteristics of circular jet are basically axisymmetrical in nature. Some work on two dimensional jets of low aspect ratio has recently been reported. However, the work is concerned with unexcited jet and the effect of acoustic excitation has not been looked into. This project involves investigating this latter phenomenon.
