Objectives
To acquire wave loading measurements of offshore structures in South China sea with particular emphasis on the welded pipe connections; to extend the development of a unified fatigue crack propagation law for welded joint of pipe materials; to develop a practical analytical model for life prediction of structural integrity of offshore systems based on the concepts of fracture mechanics using the finite element method.
