Objectives
1) To investigate the fabrication of novel bijels-derived hybrid hydrogel structures for tissue engineering applications using the templating-on-bijels approach; 2) To develop new fabrication technologies for novel hybrid hydrogels with two-phase bicontinuous structures that encapsulate drug, growth factor and cells in different phases for their separate delivery/release; 3) To characterize and evaluate bijels-derived hybrid hydrogel structures encapsulated separately with drug, growth factor and cells for their structure and properties (including biological properties) and to investigate interplays between cells, growth factors and hybrid hydrogel structures.
