Objectives
1. To document, describe, and compare standardization processes in the English-lexifier contact languages (AECs) of West Africa. 2. To analyze and theorize these processes in aspects like the development of orthographies, lexical modernization, and grammatical description, as well as the uses of the AECs for education, government, in the media, digital communication, and the entertainment industry. 3. To supervise and train undergraduate students on the project. 4. To contribute through academic research, knowledge exchange, and teaching, to the realization of the communicative and social potential of the AECs and other marginalized languages in the societies they are spoken in.
