Objectives
1 Evaluate the impact of individual-level SES and neighborhood-SES and its interaction on depressive symptoms among Chinese elderly population; 2 Examine individual-SES, after controlling the effect neighborhood-SES, contributes to older adults', how depressive symptoms and vice versa; 3 Investigate possible mitigation effect of neighborhood SES on older adults' depressive symptoms; 4 Explore individual-SES interact with neighborhood SES characteristics in affecting older adult’s how depressive symptoms; 5 Prospectively evaluate how individual- and neighborhood-SES and their interactions affecting all-cause and cause-specific mortality risk among Chinese elderly population 6 Identify pathways for how SES characteristics affect older adults’ mortality.
