Objectives
1. to compare the Hf-in-zircon isotopic composition of young, mantle-derived igneous rocks with those of crustally-derived rocks of various ages; 2. to investigate the claim that Hf isotopic heterogeneities in zircon are analytical artifacts due to wrong age assessment and/or incorrect Yb-correction; 3. to investigate the effects of Pb isotopic heterogeneity in zircon on the Hf isotopic composition; 4. to understand the behaviour of the U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopic systems in zircon during prograde metamorphism and fluid alternation and a geologically meaningful interpretation of the two isotopic systems.
