Objectives
1) To provide insight into the axial failure behavior of RC squat shear walls through comprehensive experimental study; 2) To study the effects of ALR, SDR, transverse steel ratio and reinforcement arrangement on the shear and axial failures of walls; 3) To calibrate mechanical properties for improving analytical modeling for collapse checks involving RC squat walls; 4) To establish the ALR limits and drift limits for the seismic design of shear walls above transfer structures; 5) To develop a new STM and YLM for simulation of the full range of squat wall collapse behaviors.
