Objectives
2 Employ fMRI to characterize the functional influences of AC descending projections on IC auditory processing: Determine how auditory processing functions in all bilateral IC subdivisions are modulated by optogenetically manipulating the pyramidal neurons in three AC regions (Au1, AuD and Auv). 3 Employ fMRI to characterize the functional influences of VC cross-modal descending projections on IC auditory processing: Determine how auditory processing functions in IC subdivisions are modulated by optogenetically manipulating the pyramidal neurons in one secondary VC region (V2L).
