Objectives
1 To elucidate the expression profile and cellular origin of MMP12 during fibrosis of nucleus pulposus in human and rodent IVD degeneration; 2 To validate the contribution of MMP12 to disc homeostasis through MMP12 depletion in vitro and in vivo; 3 To investigate if and how MMP12 regulates the inflammatory signaling in IVD fibrosis.
