AbstractWe reexamine the self-helicity and the intercommutation of electroweak strings. A final field configuration when electroweak strings intersect and intercommute is proposed. It conserves helicity and hence baryon number. The connection between a segment of electroweak string and a sphaleron is also discussed. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
