Abstract | Assessment and feedback are important factors in promoting the development of quality student learning outcomes but are difficult to carry out effectively. This presentation shares some examples of promising assessment and feedback designs, and draws out some key principles. It is suggested that students’ needs and priorities should be a design principle. Harnessing students’ desire for high grades represents a possible means of focusing them on productive learning strategies. Challenges for implementation are discussed, and some possible means of tackling them are suggested. |
