Abstract | Singapore and Hong Kong are both highly developed along many fronts, but both lag behind in population replacement rate. Early childhood education, be it formal or informal, public or private, free or expensive, receives great attention from parents. How to best use the children’s early years to optimize their holistic development across their life span is an important agenda for parents and stakeholders involved in early childhood stimulations. In Hong Kong, there have been active efforts to promote home-school cooperation to enhance child development. Relevant research also thrived in the past 20 years. Such steps forward can be attributed to the mastery of important knowledge (K), attitude (A) and skills (S) needed to achieve the selected goal: to strive for healthy harmony (H) amongst stakeholders. This presentation will elaborate on such KASH tips, propose their relevance to Singapore, and discuss ways to make such practice wisdom sustainable. |
