AbstractGas-diffusion electrodes with uniform openings were prepared by electrodeposition of silver on microfabricated metal mesh. The porous metallic structures were non-wetting and allowed operating pressures up to 2 atm (0.2 MPa). From the polarization data for oxygen reduction on these electrodes, the decrease in contact angle with pressure reported in an earlier study was confirmed. The wedge meniscus model was used to analyse the results, and revealed the effects of various structural and operating parameters. © 1992.
