Objectives
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the lethal cancers in Hong Kong. Resistance to chemotherapy and immunotherapy remains a major barrier to effective treatment, thus highlighting the need for effective drug targets and better clinical prognosticators for HCC treatment. Given our encouraging findings showing the critical role of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in HCC, in this proposal, we will 1) interrogate the significance of lncRNA (i.e. CASC11) in different subtypes of HCC patients, and 2) explore how lncRNA-based therapeutics synergizes with chemotherapy and immunotherapy to sensitize HCC tumor shrinkage.
