Objectives
Our first objective is to validate THY1+ fibroblasts as an early marker of osteoarthritis. The second goal of this study focuses on tracing the lineage of THY1+ fibroblasts using endogenous mitochondrial somatic variants. Toward that end, we will test therapeutic potentials of inhibiting THY1+ fibroblasts mediated osteoclastogenesis and inflammation via blockage of RANKL and CXCL12 in vivo respectively.
