Objectives
1) To develop a scenario-based framework model for future grids which facilitates new ways to compute emissions and security (indicators) and allow tradeoffs in aggregate costs; 2) To develop approaches to plan flexible grids for the future with enabling optimization across all requirements achieving resilience to likely changes with explicit representation of the new uncertainties; use of strategically placed storage, inertia (virtual and real) and grid reconfiguration will be studied; 3) To develop approaches to analyse integration limits for different renewable technologies with respect to security (balancing and stability) and customer utility.
