Objectives
HIV/AIDS epidemic continues to grow in Hong Kong. To stop AIDS, innovative strategies should be investigated comprehensively for HIV-1 prevention and therapy. We recently reported a tandem bi-specific antibody BiIASG with significantly improved potency, breadth and in vivo efficacy against HIV-1 infection and latency. However, the concentration of BiIA-SG in mucosal secretion is over 100-fold lower than that in blood, suggesting the need of an engineered bi-specific IgA for enhanced mucosal protection.
