Objectives
Obesity is a significant public health issue and a leading metabolic risk factor of attributable deaths. Identifying behavioural mechanisms that contribute to overeating are of particular importance to guide policy makers, practitioners and researchers to design effective strategies to reduce obesity epidemic. As no assessment tool is currently available for assessing the underlying psychological aspects of eating behaviour that related with overeating and obesity in Chinese Hong Kong adults, the objectives of this study are: 1. To translate into Chinese and transculturally adapt a weight-related eating questionnaire (WREQ) for assessing the psychological aspects of eating behaviour in Hong Kong Chinese adults 2. To evaluate the psychometric properties of the translated instrument among Hong Kong Chinese adults and validate the assessment tool
