Objectives
1 To thoroughly examine the trust and trust-related (eg matrimonial) legislation in major Common Law jurisdictions (England, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong), and the possible attacks on the trust in transnational trust litigation including matrimonial and other disputes. 2 To compare relevant laws in major offshore jurisdictions (the BVI, Jersey, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands). 3 To apply the research findings to examine the interaction between the Legislature and the Judiciary in transnational trust litigation. 4 To examine the implications of the modern international developments of the trust, in particular, the impact on the integrity of the trust concept.
