Objectives
1 To examine the mechanism by computations and experiment, and to optimize the reaction conditions of the (3+2) cycloaddition of epoxy enolsilanes; 2 To study the scope of the two-carbon pi-components for the (3+2) cycloaddition; 3 To investigate the scope of the epoxide and aziridinyl electrophiles for the (3+2) cycloadditions; 4 To explore the range of polycycles that can be formed from this intramolecular cycloaddition by examining the length and nature of the tether; 5 To apply the cycloaddition results to natural product synthesis
