AbstractInternational service-learning develops students’ awareness and knowledge of cultural and politico-justice issues, and models and practices for sustainable health service delivery. It also develops students’ skills in reflective practice, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary and translational practice. This presentation outlines the critical components of an international service learning experience designed to meet the ASHA standard V-B guidelines for professional practice. The qualitative outcomes of a service-learning clinical practicum in China are described.
