AbstractThe HKU Scholars Hub began in 2005 as an institutional repository for the University of Hong Kong (HKU), primarily to collect and display open access publications authored at HKU. However the research ecosystem is much larger than publications, and necessity for, and benefits of open access is not limited to publications. In 2009 the Hub began to show more objects in the research ecosystem, and in open access or open research, such as researcher profiles, patents, grants, and organizations. It became a current research information system (CRIS), that is part of the HKU cyberinfrastructure supporting open research. This presentation will describe these developments and the new HKU program for research data management.
