AbstractConnection between theory and practice is no more a new issue but still a major concern in the development of teacher education programme. It is worth investing the undergraduate teacher education programme that can provide reference to local literature. This research examines the LS teacher education programme offered by a local tertiary institute by adopting mixed research method with data collected mainly through online questionnaires. To enrich quantitative data, interviews were conducted with course instructors. Findings from both questionnaires and interviews revealed that a gap exists in current teacher education programme and student teachers’ teaching practicum. Based on the comments and feedback from the participants, suggestions for improvement on design of courses and arrangement of teaching practicum can be made. It is hoped that the theory-practice integration in teacher education programme can be strengthened.
