AbstractThe complex [Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3) 4] functions very effectively as a bidentate ligand towards other metal ions, e.g. Ni2+, Pd2+, Hg2+, and Au +, and therefore provides a good high yield route into heterometallic complexes containing 3, 5, and 6 metal atoms; the structure of one of these complexes, [{Pt2(μ-S)2(PPh3) 4}2Pd] (BF4)2, was determined by X-ray crystallography.
