AbstractGranulin-epithelin precursor (GEP), a pluripotent growth factor, is a hepatic oncofetal protein defining a cancer stem cell (CSC) population in liver cancer. The present invention provides the use of GEP inhibitors (including anti-GEP antibody) for inhibiting immune evasion by liver cancer cells and for eliminating liver cancer stem cells.
