AbstractAdipogenesis is a process of preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation by which the proliferative fibroblast-like preadipocytes developed into mature round, lipid-filled adipocytes. Treatment with agents effective in inhibiting adipogenesis is considered as a potential anti-obesity strategy, and among them the application of phytochemicals is one promising approach. This study indicates that two phenolics (oxyresveratrol, cyanomaclurin) inhibit adipogenesis most effectively of four phytochemicals tested.
