AbstractThe propagation constants of the modes in an arbitrarily shaped hollow cylindrical waveguide may be found using an integral equation method of moments (MoM) formulation. In this paper, the wavelet-like bases of Alpert are used to reduce the expense of computing the determinant of the MoM matrix Z. The saving comes about because many of the wavelet-like basis functions are subdomain functions with only high spatial frequencies.
