AbstractIn order to increase the competitive ability of organic light emitting diode (OLED) in markets, an attempt is made to enhance its external efficiency by texturing the LED surface randomly together with the addition of a reflective coating at the device bottom. The OLED-ITO/Re-3:PC/Al is used as the example for investigations. Through this example, it is observed that the external efficiency of organic light emitting diode can be increased to more than twice of the original value by texturing the device surface randomly together with the addition of a reflecting coating at the device bottom.
