AbstractThe addition of rare earth in 0.27C-1Cr steel can refine the pro-eutectoid ferrite, reduce the pearlite content with smaller lamellar space, lower the Fe 3C/α interface energy, and increase the activation energy for pro-eutectoid ferrite formation and pearlitic transformation. Therefore, the speed of pearlitic transformation is reduced, and the transformation time is prolonged. The activation energy formed in pro-eutectoid ferrite is much less than the activation energy diffused by carbon in austenite.
