AbstractThis paper deals with the problem of determining optimally the levels of stocks and the quantities of production and transportation in an integrated production-inventory-distribution system. An integer program is developed to minimize the total cost in the system. A genetic search algorithm is formulated to solve this problem. A numerical example is employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.
