Dr Weisberg-Roberts, Alicia Kyana
Dr. Weisberg-Roberts teaches courses on European art and culture in the eighteenth century, including the history of collections. Prior to taking up her appointment at HKU, Dr. Weisberg-Roberts was assistant curator of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century art at the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, and a postdoctoral research associate at the Yale Center for British art, where she co-curated the exhibition Mrs. Delany and her Circle and edited the accompanying volume of the same title. She has also published on the collections of Horace Walpole in Horace Walpole’s Strawberry Hill (Yale University Press, 2009)and on the visual culture of natural history and its influence on eighteenth-century textile design in Knowing Nature: Art and Science in Philadelphia, 1740-1840 (Yale University Press, 2012). She is currently working on a book-length study of the drawings of Antoine Watteau, and a project (with Dr. Mansour) on the representation of non-European diplomats in seventeenth-century Rome.
