Chun Xia holds a BA and a MA in Economics from Peking University. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota, and joined the University of Hong Kong in August 2008. He holds a joint appointment as Assistant Professor in Finance in the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Business.
Xia's research areas are asset pricing, behavioral finance and contract theory. His current research explores the asset pricing implications of communication and confidence in financial markets, the information transmission role of credit rating agency in the two-sided matching markets, and the determinants of financial frenzies, crashes and price co-movements.
