Dr Siu, Alan Kai Fat 邵啟發
Alan K.F. Siu is currently Associate Professor of the School of Economics and Finance, and an Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. He is Executive Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Economics and Business Strategy (HIEBS) and Executive Director of the Hong Kong Centre for Economic Research (HKCER). He did his undergraduate work in economics at Brandeis University, and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Harvard University in 1984. His research interests are the economics of research and development, productivity growth, technical change and statistical computation. He is in charge of the "Hong Kong Macroeconomic Forecast" project which aims to provide the community with timely information useful for gauging the short-term fluctuations of the economy. The macro forecasts for the current quarter have been released on a quarterly basis since 1999.
