Objectives
HKSIM, an automatic extraction program and circuit simulation model for small geometry MOS devices, will provide a bridge between new advanced process technology and its utilization in VLSI designs. Research will be done on various aspects of the physical model of small-geometry devices. HKSIM will also provide a tool and the expertise for the Hong Kong and China semiconductor industries to enter the micron or sub-micron VLSI market. It is important for Hong Kong to keep up with the fast pace of advancement of the semiconductor industry. HKSIM can maintain the competive edge and assure the continued growth of the Hong Kong semiconductor industry.
