Objectives
To study the melt flow properties and long term properties of plastics. An adequate knowledge of these properties integrated with the application of CAD/CAM techniques will enable the modelling of melt flow in the mould cavity, and the design and manufacture of precision moulds and dies. The ultimate objective is to build an expert system for the design and manufacture of high precision plastic components with load-bearing capability.
