Grant Data
Project Title
Speech sound coding in the mammalian mesencephalon
Principal Investigator
Professor Poon, Paul Wai Fung   (Principal investigator)
Start Date
1988-12-01
Amount
23000
Conference Title
Presentation Title
Grant Type
Sun Yat Sen Fund
Funding Year
1989/1990
Status
Completed
Objectives
To study neural spike activity in the mammalian midbrain using speech sounds as stimuli. The stimulus features of the speech sounds will be studied by comparing the response properties of the cells to frequency modulated tones in terms of basic characteristics of the sounds such as FM slope, depth, carrier frequency and sound intensity.
