Objectives
To use ultrasonic energy in chemical reactions in the synthesis and derivatization of long chain unsaturated and polyfunctional fatty acid molecules (e.g. very long chain fatty acid, VLCFA); to study the mechanisms of novel organic reactions performed under concomitant ultrasonic irradiation (e.g. heteroaromatization of unsaturated ketones).
