To elucidate the ecology of tropical ascomycetes in Hong Kong and Brunei streams; to illustrate and quantify the role of tropical fungi nutrient cycling in Hong Kong and Brunei streams; to document wood decay activity and extracellular enzyme production by aquatic ascomycetes; to examine antagonistic activity of tropical aquatic ascomycetes against other fungi and bacteria; to examine the affect of a polluted stream on species composition.
