Objectives
To study beach changes taking place in various parts of Hong Kong in general and the effect of typhoons on the gain and loss of beach sand in particular. Levelling of selected beaches at regular intervals and before and after the onset of storms makes it possible to trace both short-term and long-term beach changes. This yields the data base for designing and launching beach conservation.
