Objectives
Project Objectives: Cerebral aneurysms are abnormal swellings of blood vessels in the brain. Rupture of such aneurysms leads to massive internal bleeding, resulting in permanent disability or even death. A few percent of the population (i.e. about 100,000 in Hong Kong) might be at risk, and clinically it is crucial to identify the high risk cases and, if necessary, to apply treatment. Conceptually rupture may occur when blood stream pressure exceeds the threshold of the vessel wall.
