2) To estimate the age- and cause-specific contributions to life expectancy gains in Hong Kong (Study 1) 3) To examine the effect of migration on life expectancy in Hong Kong (Study 1) 4) To compare the age-, cohort- and cause-specific contributions to mortality (Study 2) in Hong Kong with: a. High-longevity countries b. Countries with similar population size and/or long term socioeconomic growth c. Countries with a life expectancy similar to Hong Kong in 1976
